Last evening, Global Partners & Associates announced that Gene Kimmelman will be leaving the Justice Department and joining the firm as a senior associate.
The following statement may be attributed to Gigi B. Sohn, President & CEO:
"Gene Kimmelman’s departure from the Justice Department is a bittersweet one for Public Knowledge. Gene has been a terrific public servant who always puts the interests of the public first. The American people deserve more individuals like him at all levels of government.
"On the other hand, we are delighted that Gene will be returning to the public interest sector, with a particular focus on training new media and technology policy advocates to work to protect a free and open internet domestically and abroad. His role is sorely needed in the field.
"We look forward to working with Gene in his new position and hope that his replacement at Justice will be as dedicated to the interests of consumers and Internet users as he is."
