It has been one week since the launch of the 3D printing whitepaper, and so it is time for two more interviews with some of the folks who make up the 3D printing community.

First is Rick Pollack of MakerGear.  MakerGear sells parts and supplies for home 3D printers.  Rick talks about the similarities between today’s 3D printing and the early PC industry, and how the increasing rate of technological innovation will change manufacturing.

Second is Robert Schouwenburg of Shapeways.  Shapeways is a print on demand service.  Users design their objects, upload their design, and Shapeways prints out the object and sends it back.  Robert explains how Shapeways enables customers to create their own physical goods and put “their own personal swing” on products.
