Public Knowledge joined four other public interest and consumer advocacy groups in a letter to Congress opposing the NO FAKES Act. While the groups share concerns about the possible harms that digital replica tools like gen-AI pose to democracy and personal dignity, this bill fails to address these harms — and, in fact, threatens to worsen them.
