Public Knowledge Commends FCC On Start of Broadband Plan

    The following statement is attributed to Gigi B. Sohn, president and co-founder of Public Knowledge:

    “The FCC this morning took a long overdue step to improving our nation's economy. Despite thewidespread recognition that high-speed Internet services are necessary, this is the first time a government agency will take a comprehensive look at the situation and recommend a course of action to remedy our rapidly declining broadband ranking.

    “We hope the Commission will use every means it has to produce a plan to bring more competition, more features, faster speeds and lower prices to consumers while making certain that no one is left behind. We will all benefit when the Commission is successful in doing so.”
