Public Knowledge Policy Counsel Kathleen Burke Receives WifiForward Wi-Fi At Work Award

WifiForward presents Public Knowledge Policy Counsel Kathleen Burke with Wi-Fi At Work Award, naming her a Policy Champion for wireless connectivity.

Today, WifiForward, a coalition of companies, organizations, and public sector institutions, presented Public Knowledge Policy Counsel Kathleen Burke with a Wi-Fi At Work Award, designating her a Wi-Fi Policy Champion for her efforts to close the digital divide through innovative connectivity policies.

The Wi-Fi At Work Awards recognize two different groups of recipients: Wi-Fi Policy Champions and Community Connectivity Superheroes. Wi-Fi Policy Champions are individuals who advocate for smart policy that connects people to Wi-Fi. Community Connectivity Superheroes are organizations that have used Wi-Fi in innovative ways to connect their communities. Wi-Fi has never been more essential for Americans, making this work on both the community and policy sides absolutely essential.

Ms. Burke will also speak on a panel covering “The Role of Unlicensed Spectrum in Bridging the Digital Divide” as part of WifiForward’s 2022 Wi-Fi Summit, “An Inclusive Spectrum Future,” today, June 21, at 3:30 p.m. ET. Register for the event. This event is open to the media.

The following can be attributed to Chris Lewis, President and CEO at Public Knowledge:

“Over the past two years, Kathleen Burke has burst onto the scene of tech policy including rapidly becoming an expert in spectrum policy. It is particularly great to see her leadership and advocacy in spectrum policy, a subset of telecommunications policy that often sees such little ethnic and gender diversity. Kathleen is a proud product of the PKTrains program which is dedicated to building the next generation of policy experts and advocates that reflect the diversity of our country. Kathleen is a versatile Policy Counsel at Public Knowledge and an even better teammate and work colleague. I know that her skills with the law and technology, and her heart for the public interest, will lead to greater achievements in the years to come.”
