Public Knowledge's Senior Staff Attorney, Jodie Griffin, will testify before the Senate Commerce Committee's subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet in the hearing titled, “Preserving Public Safety and Network Reliability in the IP Transition.”
Griffin will explain that the transition to Internet Protocol based services is a tremendous opportunity to establish better quality communications throughout the country. And that the transition must be an upgrade and not a downgrade in the services that people depend on.
The following can be attributed to Jodie Griffin, Senior Staff Attorney at Public Knowledge:
“Stakes in the IP Transition are high and the choices policymakers are making now will impact how Americans conduct business, communicate with loved ones, and reach emergency services. Public Knowledge urges policymakers to follow the values that have informed our communications networks.”
