Yesterday, members of the SaveTheInternet.com coalition rallied behind the introduction of “Internet Freedom and Preservation Act” (S. 2917). It's a bi-partisan bill introduced by Senators Olympia Snowe (Republican from Maine) and Byron Dorgan (Democrat from North Dakota), that simply returns an enforceable net neutrality policy back in the hands of the FCC.
At the event, the podium was book-ended by boxes of letters and petitions from over 1 million citizens, asking Congress to enforce net neutrality. Both Senators were politically book-ended by the so-called extremes of the political spectrum: Michele Combs of the Christian Coalition of America, and Joan Blades of Moveon.org. You'll be able watch a video of what they had to say about net neutrality in a later post today.
You can read the bill here.
