General Counsel, January
Michal Rosenn is General Counsel of January, a tech-enabled debt collection platform.
She was previously General Counsel of Noom, a psychology-based digital health company, General Counsel of Expa, a global community of entrepreneurs helping each other build companies, and General Counsel of Kickstarter, the leading funding platform for creative projects.
In all her roles, Michal has complemented her legal duties with a focus on public policy, a creative and inclusive approach to advocacy, and a commitment to the public interest in the technology sector. While at Kickstarter, she helped lead Kickstarter’s conversion to Public Benefit Corporation status and made the company a leading voice for public policy in the technology community. Michal led Kickstarter’s efforts on a range of public policy initiatives, including fighting to preserve net neutrality, advocating for users’ free expression and privacy rights, and championing a fair patent system. She continued this policy work at Expa, building upon the company’s existing advocacy for immigrant rights and expanding its advocacy on behalf of entrepreneurs and creators.
Michal was previously a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. She is a graduate of New York University and Harvard Law School, and serves on the boards of Public Knowledge and Engine Advocacy. She is also a member of the New York State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
