Moses Boyd is Washington, D.C.-based attorney, public policy expert, and entrepreneur, whereby he creates and supports the launch of innovative technology ventures that are driven by major social good missions. His initiatives include a new Black consumer-focused civic engagement media and technology company, a technology platform to foster more private investments in sustainable infrastructure and new forms of energy to combat Climate Change, a fundraising gaming platform for charities and social causes, and a healthcare informational platform to aid vulnerable communities to get information and gain access to needed and quality healthcare.
Moses began his professional career in 1987 in South Carolina upon becoming a private practicing attorney. Later that year, he became a Staff Attorney to the South Carolina General Assembly and Legislative Council. His duties included drafting legislation and policies for House and Senate Legislative Members.
In 1989, Moses moved to Washington, D.C. upon becoming Counsel to the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, commonly known as the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee. The Senate Commerce Committee oversees the media, technology, telecommunications, and transportation industries, the U.S. Transportation and Commerce Departments, and the Federal Communications and the Federal Trade Commissions, and the sale of goods and consumer services in the U.S. economy.
During his 13-year tenure with the Committee, Moses held the positions of Senior Majority and Minority Counsel (Democratic) to the Consumer Affairs Subcommittee that included oversight of the Federal Trade Commission, Internet issues and unfair trade practices, and Chief Minority and Majority Counsel to the full Committee (1999-2002) covering all of the Committee’s issues.
